The Cincy for Sylvia Team will host a fundraiser for Michigan State Representative Sylvia Santana (D-Detroit) for her campaign for State Senate. The fundraiser is Saturday, March 24, from 5-7 p.m. at Plum Street Café, 423 Plum Street, Cincinnati, 45202. Santana is running for Michigan’s 3rd Senate District, which includes Detroit, Dearborn and Melvindale.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Santana was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 2016 and is now running for the open seat in the 3rd Senate District. “I learned my work ethic and dedication to my community while growing up here in Cincinnati,” Santana said. “My family and friends still reside her in Cincinnati; this community will always be special to me.”

Sylvia Ford Santana grew up in Evanston neighborhood. She attended Vine Street Elementary in Corryville before attending Withrow High School in Hyde Park where she excelled and was selected by AFS Intercultural Programs to complete her junior year of high school in Puerto Rico. A member of the Class of 1998, she graduated from Eastern Michigan University with Bachelor’s of Science degree in international business.
