The Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky African American Chamber of Commerce in Walnut Hills is hosting a Back to School supplies giveaway for 200 area students. The chamber and its members will provide basic school supplies, while they last, from its headquarters location at 2945 Gilbert Ave.
The giveaway starts at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14. “We understand the challenges parents face in preparing their children to return to school,” says African American Chamber President and CEO Eric H. Kearney. “Our goal is to emphasize the importance of preparation in creating a supportive learning environment. The Black business community supports education and establishing a strong foundation for students. Although we are limited in our ability to reach all students returning to classrooms, we wanted to at least give 200 students the tools they need to start their school year.
“The response from our members, sponsors, and the community has exceeded expectations. We are grateful for their support.”
Contributors include Speedy Signs, First Financial Bank, Swain Consulting, OneBridge, The Herring Group, Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza, Cincinnati Reds and L.A. Carr Communications.
