Earlier this year the City of Cincinnati enlisted partners to leverage current market conditions through a newly developed strategy to bring foreign dollars to the City of Cincinnati.

The first phase of this work is reflected in the report Unlocking the Tri-State Region: Foreign Direct Investment Strategy Report and a forthcoming foreign direct investment (FDI) resource navigator. Both were developed by the City of Cincinnati Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) as part of an ongoing focus on attracting and retaining foreign firms and investors to the Cincinnati region. The report comes as a follow up to the department’s successful March 2017 symposium held in partnership with REDI Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati.

The FDI resource navigator will act as a directory for supportive services to businesses and investors looking to partner with the city, and can be personalized based on needs. The report and FDI resource navigator showcase Cincinnati’s ability to deploy innovative strategies to attract businesses and investors to grow our local and regional economy.

The release of these tools builds on Cincinnati’s recent recognition as a Top 10 Large American City of the Future by fDi Magazine in four categories and precedes the 2018 Site Selectors Guild Annual Conference, to be held in Cincinnati.

“Our FDI strategy and resource navigator add to our tools to attract investment throughout the city,” adds DCED Director Oscar Bedolla. “By releasing this FDI strategy we hope to send a powerful signal to potential businesses and investors around the world that Cincinnati is open for business.”
