2018 Business Excellence Awards to Recognize Local Businesses

(Cincinnati, OH – April 2018) – The Cincinnati Chapter of the Collective Empowerment Group (CEG) will present its 2018 Business Excellence Awards Gala on Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Duke Energy Convention Center in the Junior Ballroom – 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Brian Lamb, Vice President at Fifth Third Bank, serves as this year’s Honorary Chair and Fifth Third Bank is the Gala’s Title Investor Sponsor which is the major annual fundraiser for CEG.

The keynote speaker will be Roland S. Martin who is one of America’s most prolific journalists and the cultural voice of reason, particularly from an African American perspective. Over the course of his journalistic career, Martin has interviewed newsmakers ranging from multiple U.S. presidents to top athletes and entertainers. Mr. Martin will be speaking from this year’s theme: “Walking in Our Economic Power.”

The 2018 CEG Business Excellence Awards Gala is equal parts ceremony, celebration and entertainment. This year’s musical entertainment is a “cutting” from “All Hail the Queen: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin,” a rousing “snapshot” of the life of the “Queen” and her music. A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the business awards which spotlights individuals and companies that have demonstrated consistent growth, unique vision, innovation and support of Cincinnati’s economy and the small and minority business community.

The Collective Empowerment Group is a non-profit organization whose mission is to establish partnerships with churches, businesses and financial institutions that impact and empower the community. Programs and services offered by CEG are designed to (1) assist small business on their growth and development and, (2) assist the community as it relates to preparation for home ownership, Adopt-a-School and personal financial literacy.
