As part of the Avondale Quality of Life initiative, Avondale residents in collaboration with the Avondale Development Corporation, Local Initiative Support Corporation, Community Building Institute and the City of Cincinnati are hosted Transforming Avondale: Community Planning Session.

The session included a broad group of over 107 community members.  Participants consisted of homeowners, renters, people experiencing homelessness youth, adults, seniors, business owners, clergy and stakeholders who came together to share challenges and issues faced, as well as successes and assets of the community.

Participants brainstormed elements of an Avondale community vision for the next 10 years, and visualize areas of concern and excitement.

See the map.

GREEN = Areas you are most proud of?
BLUE = Where is your place in the community?
YELLOW = Where is there opportunity?
RED = What areas need the most help?

Thirty 30 residents and stakeholders also signed up for working groups in the following themed areas of increasing safety, sharing success and strengthening partnerships between community and institutions and improving housing.
