Know someone who’s seeking affordable housing in the Cincinnati area? If so, you’ll want to know about the following opportunities.

For the first time since 2017, the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) is accepting pre-applications to be included in a lottery for the waiting list for its Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program.

“This is great news. This is an opportunity to potentially help a lot of low-income seniors, people with disabilities and others to get into affordable housing,” said COA Housing Coordinator Jonathan Crum.

Online applications will be accepted at www.waitlistcheck.com/OH2265. The application will be accessible via any internet-capable device, and at the time of sign up only the head of household and co-head of household will need to supply their social security numbers and dates of birth. No paper applications will be accepted

Crum said it’s important for those applying to make sure to submit a valid mailing address because mail will not be forwarded and return mail disqualifies them from the process.

The lottery will randomly select 6,500 applicants from all the applications collected to be added to the program’s waiting list.

Additionally, Delhi Estates Apartments is accepting applications for its waiting list from individuals 62 and older or those of any age with disabilities. Those interested in applying should call Delhi Estates Apartments for an appointment at 513 922-7934 or pick up an application in their office, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
