The General Assembly has set April 28 as the final day of the 2020 Primary Election. Voting by mail has been extended through April 28, 2020. In-person voting is limited to April 28 at the Board of Elections office for individuals with a qualifying disability or who cannot receive mail.
**The extension is only for voters who have not yet cast a ballot in the 2020 Primary Election**
Vote by mail applications:
- Applications are available on our website or call 632-7000 to have an application mailed to you. You may also fill out an application at the board office by using the self-serve station in the vestibule of our facility.
- Applications must be received by the Board of Elections by noon on April 25.
- Applications may be mailed to the Board of Elections or dropped off using our secure 24-hour drive-up drop box located at the board office.
Vote by mail ballots:
- Ballots will be delivered beginning March 30.
- Ballots must be returned to the Board of Elections by 7:30 p.m. on April 28, 2020.
- Ballots that are postmarked by April 27 and received by the board by May 8 will be added to the official count.
- Ballots may be mailed to the Board of Elections or dropped off using our secure 24-hour drive-up drop box located at the board office.
Voting in-person:
- Voting in-person is limited to voters with a qualifying disability or voters who cannot receive mail.
- In-person voting will take place at the Board of Elections office on April 28 from 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
- Voters with a qualifying disability may also choose to vote by mail.
Postcard notification:
- All eligible voters will receive a postcard from the Ohio Secretary of State advising them how to request an absentee ballot.
- Only voters who have not already cast a ballot in the 2020 Primary Election may request a ballot.
Voter registration:
- Only voters who were registered in the State of Ohio as of February 18, 2020 may vote in the Primary Election.
- Voters may continue to submit registrations and update a change of address or name, but the registrations will not be processed until after April 28.
Board office:
- The office remains closed to the public with the exception of our vestibule area, which will remain open to the public from Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is a self-serve station to complete vote by mail applications and voter registration forms.
Campaigns:
- The absentee voter list on our website is now updated to include voters who are requesting ballots during the extended voting period. We began entering those requests on March 24, 2020. Ballots will be mailed beginning March 30.
