Alzheimer’s Association
Community mobilization along with diversity and inclusion are hallmarks of the Alzheimer’s Association nationwide. African Americans are twice as likely to be diagnosed with this disease and are dying at higher rates than other groups. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Greater Cincinnati Chapter is here to assist anyone who is dealing with Alzheimer’s and other dementia in their family.
All association programs are being conducted online or by phone, whenever possible. For more information on association webinars (video presentations) and teleconference options, call (513) 721-4284 or visit www.alz.org/cincinnati/helping_you/calendar. Call 24/7 the association Helpline at (800) 272-3900 for assistance, whenever you need it. This number will connect to FREE resources and services related to Alzheimer’s and other dementia. Visit the association website at www.alz.org/cincinnati for more detailed information.
On Saturday, June 27, the Alzheimer’s Association African American Forum: Dementia – A Public Health Crisis – is scheduled at the Community Action Agency Conference Center in Bond Hill. This luncheon is FREE and open to the public. Register by calling (800)-272-3900.
