Mayor John Cranley, the Cincinnati Riding or Walking Network (CROWN) and members of the community on August 24 held a ceremonious ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of a key segment along the Ohio River Trail West. This 0.6 mile trail (Evans Street to State Street) is one of two currently funded trails between Lower Price Hill and Riverside. The next 1.3-mile segment (Gilday/Riverside Park to Fairbanks Avenue) is under construction and will be complete in 2021.
The Ohio River Trail West is a part of the broader vision for CROWN, the plan for a 34-mile urban trail loop around Cincinnati.
Among those present for the event were John Cranley, Mayor of Cincinnati; Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney, Cincinnati City Councilmember; Wade Johnston, Director, Tri-State Trails; Greg Lang, Ohio River Trail West; Community member; Cynthia Ford, President, Lower Price Hill Community Council.
