For some of us, we were expecting or excited for 2020 to begin. We were on the brink of ushering in a new decade, which meant, well at least for me, meant a new year, new decade, new opportunity to just move forward. I couldn’t wait for that summer moment to be sipping mimosa’s in a cute fit that I’ve pulled together with a new makeup look that I’ve decided to try.
And, if you’re like me, March came and everything as I said in my first piece, changed the world. Even with changing the world, came a change of how we interacted with each other. We went from in-person happy hours to virtual link ups, game nights, birthday celebrations and so much more but what we weren’t prepared for was, how do we adapt or make our makeup looks stand out in this new virtual world.
It was the trial and error for me! I tried experimenting with so much and I was so relieved when I saw electric liner was making a return to the forefront of the beauty industry. But it was coming back with a new look, elevated liner. Yes! I’m talking the colors we love but are scared to rock as black and brown girls, in a cute elevated liner look. Electric purples, greens, blues, yellows, etc., and they have your browns and blacks as well. Once I saw the trend picking up more, I knew it was going to be a 2021 hot trend for makeup looks and I love colors, so of course I was excited.
Recently, NYX a brand you can find in your local Walgreens or Duane Reade, launched their Epic Wear liner sticks and who picked up four new liners, I did. Who was also excited to try these colors as soon she got home, I was. Initially, the packaging is definitely a little hard to get past but once opened and applied, when I tell you, I was in love. I was literally in love. So, I tried a look.
You can see the pic below and I hope you venture into this realm of new colors as I did. It’s a new day in beauty and I’m trying all these new trends on of a next zoom meeting. I hope you’ll join me. What electric colors are you scared to try
Until next time loves, remember to be well to yourself.
Xoxo,
