This Valentine’s Day, I took a different route and decided it was time for me to take a step away from the world and step into loving me.
Black owned brands are really coming to the forefront in the beauty industry and if you’re like me, we LOVE TO SEE IT! A few months ago, I was introduced to a new up and coming Black, woman-owned, & one-woman powered brand called, “Amoi Naturals.” We’ve all heard the saying, “Black Don’t Crack” right? Founded in July 2019 by Allayne Skeen, who struggled with finding her own skin and hair care products that made her feel flawlessly beautiful, Amoi Naturals was created to celebrate and preserve the beauty of Black skin. Their products are also 100% organic and handmade with love.
Amoi Naturals definitely blessed me with some amazing things to try out. Over the past weeks, I’ve been able to try and absolutely love the Lavender Eucalyptus Face Wash, Aloe Facial Toner, the Citrus Soufflé Body Butter, and the Hair Growth Oil. One thing for me, anything lavender, I absolutely love but sometimes with lavender products, the smell can be a little overpowering and I think that’s really with any floral sent. This is not the case with Amoi Naturals. As soon as I put on the face wash during my shower, I immediately felt the tranquility of the lavender infused face wash and felt so relaxed. I almost didn’t want to leave my shower. After I applied the Cucumber Rosey Facial Toner, body butter, hair oil, and placed my satin cap on, I instantly slipped into a deep sleep as soon as I touched my bed.
When I woke up the next day, the way my skin felt, I was so ready to get done with the day just so I can do this new nightly routine all over again and when I was done with the day, I did exactly that. The past week has been exhilarating to say the least. My skin feels so different, so delicate, and I love it. My hair definitely has more curl definition and it feels like a pillow of feathers that I can’t keep my hands out of. I’m more than excited to try the Whipped Herbal Hair Cream and Hibiscus Tea Conditioner in the upcoming weeks, which is actually set to be released in the Spring but I’ll make sure you all have an excellent review of this product before it’s released.
Founder, Allayne really wants to make sure Amoi Naturals is a brand that not only heals and preserves Black skin in the beauty industry but also teaches in the community as well. One goal for Allayne and Amoi Naturals is as they continue to promote healthy living, she eventually wants to teach and help all women and men achieve healthier glowing skin.
