Mayoral candidate Aftab Pureval released ‘One Cincinnati Economic Recovery Plan’ – a three part policy plan focusing on economic recovery, growth and equity.

“My administration will lift up Cincinnatians and grow our economy in every corner of our city, by expanding Black ownership, investing in minority and women-owned businesses, and ensuring an equal and just recovery,” said Pureval. “My plan is informed by people in the community. It will create a more resilient, more prosperous and more equitable Cincinnati. Let’s get to work.”

Aftab is the first candidate for mayor to release a comprehensive policy agenda. The plan includes:

  • Recovering and rebuilding our economy by keeping families in their home; connecting unemployed workers with in-demand jobs; and directing funding to struggling restaurants.
  • Growing and improving our economy for the 21st Century, by streamlining the process to start a new business; incentivizing local supply chains among major buyers; and attracting new companies and skilled employees to Cincinnati.
  • Sharing prosperity more equitably by deliberately expanding Black business ownership and homeownership, lowering barriers to entry to qualify for the city bidding process, closing the digital divide, and deliberately addressing the unequal effects of COVID-19.

Aftab Pureval is the first Democrat elected as the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts in over 100 years. In that position, he ended the office’s nepotism and cronyism, saved taxpayers millions of dollars and expanded services.

Previously, Pureval worked at Procter & Gamble. He earned his law degree at the University of Cincinnati. Aftab has been awarded the NAACP Theodore Berry Award for Service and has been recognized by the Business Courier as one of their 40 under 40.
