Unfortunately, if you’re anything like me when the weather changes, your face and skin change right with it. Lately, I’ve been struggling with finding out what hyperpigmentation spots are and well, how to really enhance the look and feel of my skin. I am completely over the random pimples, the dark spots and the rough patches. As we know, well for myself when applying makeup, I like to think skincare is your base and if you don’t have a good base then essentially when applying makeup, you’re only covering up imperfections as opposed to enhancing the beauty that is.
Fortunately, there are brands determined to find the right products to help fight all the issues I mentioned before. Recently, I stopped into my local Sephora and talked with a rep about some of the issues I’ve been facing and my take on a few of my favorite products there. Let’s Talk Hyperpigmentation
Hyperpigmentation is common amongst a lot of people. If you’re wondering what those dark spots just appearing on your skin area are, that’s typically it. Hyperpigmentation is usually harmless (please consult your local dermatologist) and is darkening patches on the skin caused by excess of melanin.
The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA
- Lactic Acid (Lactate) is a process in which cells produce energy without oxygen flowing to the skin and is also in our blood. Used on the skin, Lactic acid can brighten, smooth, and even your skin while also making the skin appear firmer. So, for those times you want or need help with those pesky lines or the skin that sags under the eyes, this product helps conquer all of. that.

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
- AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) are two powerful solutions that help fight and tackle blemishes of the skin. AHA is an exfoliant acid that can be stemmed from sugarcane, milk, or fruit. AHA tackles getting rid of all the dead skin cells left on the skin while BHA is used to fight acne and sun damage of the skin. Used together in this formula, both leave the skin feeling smooth, looking clear, and blemish free for the days of summer.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
- Niacinamide and Zinc work alongside vitamins and minerals in the skin that protect the barrier of the skin and help treat acne. Zinc is an important mineral that helps your body inside and out while helping to maintain the look and feel of your skin. I personally recommend adding Zinc to your daily vitamin intake.
