The Cincinnati Herald is taking a look at several Team USA members as we count down to the 2020 Summer Olympics, which are being held in Tokyo, Japan starting Friday, July 23 until Sunday, August 8. Today we take a look at Simone Manuel.
Simone Manuel is an American swimmer who specializes in sprint freestyle. Manuel is a four-time Olympic medalist, who previously competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics. She won two gold medals in the 4x100m medley and the 100m free, and two silver medals in the 4x100m free and 50m free.
Manuel qualified for the U.S. Olympic swim team by winning the 50m freestyle on the final day of the Olympic Trials.
