The Longworth-Anderson Series proudly presents 10-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, rapper, and bassist Meshell Ndegeocello, bringing her unique blend of jazz, soul, rock, R&B, funk, and reggae to Memorial Hall’s intimate stage on Saturday, September 4, at 8 p.m. Backed by her longtime band, Meshell performs in her distinctive musical style guided by rich, warm tones and her trademark sensuality and soul.
Her career has spanned 14 albums, with ten Grammy nominations including “Best Contemporary Jazz Album”, “Best Contemporary R&B Album”, and “Best Urban/Alternative Album”, and collaborations and recordings with Madonna, John Mellencamp, Herbie Hancock, and the Rolling Stones, among others.
Pre-concert reception from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. features live local music from Aziza Love, light bites from Flavors of the Isle and Mattson Barbecue, and wine tastings from Markell-Bani Fine Wines.
