Let’s love our hair, that means having healthy hair. Protective styles are in, especially during Covid. We need styles that last longer and are healthy for our hair. Personally, I’ve been growing my hair out, so I’ve been all about the wig life, so easy to manage. However, you need to make sure your hair is staying healthy and happy underneath your wigs and protective styles. Here are some quick tips/steps on keeping your hair healthy. I used these products from Hollywood Beauty Products for this: Tea Tree Oil, Coconut Oil and Hemp Seed Oil.
Step 1: Cleanse hair underneath your wig every 2-4 weeks (depending on your hair type), co-washed or full wash with minimal amount needed with moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
Pro tip: Use a mixture of 1-ounce Tea Tree Oil and 1-ounce Coconut Oil to cleanse the dry scalp areas prior to shampoo. Tea Tree helps clear the scalp as antibacterial and antifungal. Coconut Oil moisturizes as it is a penetrating oil.
Step 2: Shampoo, Condition and Braid. Then use the Hemp Seed Oil on edges and ends to seal in moisture.
Step 3: BIG TIP, Always make sure hair is fully dry in braids/protective styles especially if you are going to wear a wig.
Your underneath hair is now happy and healthy and ready to slay.
