Norwood – The Hamilton County Board of Elections is in need of Poll Workers for the primary election to be held on May 3rd. Litigation surrounding Ohio’s redistricting process has contributed to some confusion regarding the timing of the May primary, but the Ohio Secretary of State has directed Boards of Elections to proceed with the primary for all contests other than those subject to ongoing litigation. The bottom line is that there will be a primary election on May 3rd in Hamilton County.
“Some poll workers have been hesitating to commit while waiting for resolution in the court cases,” said Sherry Poland, Director of Elections. “We know there will be an election on May 3rd, so the time is now to sign up.”
“Working the polls is a great way to serve your community,” said Alex Linser, Deputy Director of Elections. “With the possibility of holding two primary elections this year, we need more poll workers than ever.”
There is still time to sign-up to be a poll worker. Serve your community and be a part of the democratic process. Poll workers are paid $181.50. Training classes are offered mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Sign-up today by calling the Board of Elections at 632-7000 or online at https://votehamiltoncountyohio.gov/become-poll-worker/
