This is the season to drink and make merry, don’t forget to include the wine when making a budget this holiday season. A few calculations will help keep everything organized. A standard bottle of wine holds 750ML which is around 25.361 fluid ounces.

This is approximately six glasses of wine, a size that enables two people to enjoy three glasses of wine on a six ounce pour. If wine is purchased at $20 per bottle, then the cost is about $3.33 per guest.

Don’t forget to include vegan wines for plant-based guests. Vegan wines aren’t strained with egg whites or gelatins, instead a pea protein element is used to strain vegan wines.

For a tight budget, consider purchasing Champagne in bigger bottles to achieve better value. A magnum equals to two bottles of Champagne, a Rehoboam is equal to four bottles of Champagne.

Left over sparkling wine can be used to macerate fresh fruit. Only serve the macerated fruit to adults.

Ask guests to bring a bottle of their favorite wine. Or select one white, two reds, a sparkling or a dessert wine. Consider purchasing a few half bottles of wine to create more options.
