City Manager Sheryl Long named Ben Breuninger Deputy Director of Communications for the City Manager’s Office.

“I’m excited to expand our Communications Team with the addition of Ben. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience along with a strong desire to contribute to the betterment of our community. His helpful and positive demeanor made it clear he was a great fit and I look forward to working with him to inform and engage our public,” City Manager Sheryl Long said.

Originally from the Philadelphia area, Ben spent the last eight years in Detroit, where he worked in the communications department at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO). After leaving the DSO, he worked as a technical writer in the scientific and pharmaceutical field. Ben and his wife moved to Cincinnati earlier this year to raise their son closer to family who live in the area.

“I’m thrilled to receive this opportunity and honored to serve the City of Cincinnati as Deputy Director of Communications. Although I’m new in town, my family and I have been blown away by the warm welcome we’ve received. I look forward to learning, listening, and continuing to explore our great city, both in my professional capacity at City Hall and personally as a Cincinnatian,” Deputy Director of Communications Ben Breuninger said.

Ben holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Dickinson College. He is an experienced communications strategist, writer, and editor who has a passion for mission-driven work.
