The newest babies and their families at UC Health’s UC Medical Center received a special surprise this week in advance of Saturday’s Crosstown Shootout between University of Cincinnati Men’s Basketball and Xavier Musketeers.
Some of the babies born last week at UC Medical Center received an exclusive “Beat Xavier” T-shirt. On Thursday, Dec. 8, the UC Bearcats mascot and Cheer and Dance team members visited the UC Medical Center Postpartum Care Unit to help get the newborns into the cheering spirit for the game.
Souley Boum had 21 points, including the go-ahead free throw with one second remaining, and visiting Xavier defeated Cincinnati 80-77 in the 90th Crosstown Shootout.
UC Medical Center, Greater Cincinnati’s only adult Level I trauma center, has recently been named a 2022-2023 High Performing hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy) by U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice.
