Great Parks honored Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a community service project, teaming up with the Roselawn Beautification Committee to beautify the area around the Great Parks Nature Center at The Summit.

The event is inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.’s call to serve and give back to the community. Great Parks staff and volunteers gathered at noon on Monday, Jan. 16, at the Nature Center at The Summit, 1580 Summit Rd., in Cincinnati. Participants then broke into groups to walk the streets of Roselawn to pick up litter.

Afterwards, groups gathered at the Nature Center for nature-themed, hands-on activities and programs special to this Great Parks destination. The Great Parks Nature Center at The Summit is a special collaboration with New Prospect Baptist Church, providing children and families with park-related services that open gateways to nature exploration.
