What made you start your business?
I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. My family has owned their own businesses and helped others and their communities for years. I grew up knowing that having my own business was a goal. When I started my family, I knew that working the traditional full-time job I had been in, was no longer going to fit. It was time for a change. I wanted to be able to contribute to my household so I started doing some research online. I came across a personality questionnaire based in real estate that helped place you with a company that would suit you best. I submitted my responses, and that same day the broker for one of the companies called me to set up an interview. I found my spot. I started taking the necessary classes to start this new path and within months I was a licensed Realtor. I haven’t looked back since.
How does it empower you as a Black Woman in the Beauty Field?
Being a black woman has empowered me to share my knowledge with confidence in educating and opening the minds of others to pursue their dreams by purchasing their own property and/or investment property. I alway say “just don’t lease a unit for your business, buy the whole building.” Or “Why make someone else rich, purchase your own property.” It is important for me to see black women and men own their own property or properties. Ownership is wealth!! I am working to fulfill the gap of ownership in the black communities.
As a black woman, representation is important! I have inspired my own daughters and even their friends to be entrepreneurs. They love seeing me work my business and I have inspired them to live their own dreams without hesitation. I encourage them to make a difference and step outside the box. Children are our future and it’s important to teach them beyond what traditional schools can teach.

What are 3 of your favorite beauty items you can’t live without?
I love to have a great skin care regimen with an awesome moisturizer. Right now (because skin changes), I use Tula Skin care with their 24/7 moisture day and night cream. The next product I use is the Black Girl Sunscreen. Sunscreen is so important especially with me being in the sun showing houses all day. Protection is key. The Lip Bar, love their matte and gloss lip line. It offers a great amount of moisture that it doesn’t feel like a matte. These are my go to beauty favs!
Anything else our beauty readers should know about you?
I am an active parent in the Westwood community, serving on the fundraising board of Dater Montessori since 2016, and an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. As a Realtor, I have absolutely found my path with this profession. I have made lifelong relationships. It’s important that I connect with people I work with to see their vision. I have been able to encourage, inspire, coach and watch my clients make their dreams come true. Not a day goes by that I don’t thank God for all the people He has put in my path and the doors He has opened.
