Viognier (“Vee-own-yay”) is a medium-bodied dry white wine from southern France. Most loved for its perfumed aromas of cut fresh flowers.
Rich and spicy with mouth-watering notes of stone fruits and honeysuckle. Viognier has a lovely rounded, smooth, and refined finish on the palette.
Pairing foods with Viognier is to respect its delicate floral notes and low acidity. Tofu, shrimp and grits, and Caser salad pair wonderfully during the warm summer months.
The late harvest version of Viognier has luscious flavors of Anjou pear, golden delicious apples, astonishing apricot, and a kiss of spice.
A pleasing sweetness adds to a long finish. Serve instead of desert or as a conclusion to a light summer meal.
