I had an amazingly delicious dinner at one of newest restaurants in Cincinnati “Alara” on 5410 Medpace Way.
Tall glass doors make way to totally a modern interior and lush seating choices. The flatware and the wine glasses are high end designer pieces and help make the dining experience lux.
The menu is well thought-out, and substitutions are welcomed for diet restrictions.

Salads with loads of toppings and house made dressings. The smoked carrot hummus is one of their signature dishes. Several pasta choices: vegetarian Bolognese, Tai shrimp tagliatelle, and many more.
Steaks: USDA prime New York strip, lamb chops, Wagyu beef, tomahawk steaks. Seafood includes bay sea scallops, king salmon, branzino fish tacos,
I had the moist chicken slider on a toasted bun with wasabi aioli, and shredded lettuce. The king crab salad slider has a lemon curd spread on the toasted bun. Potato wedges were super crispy and sprinkled with smoked salt.

The chicken Milanese is large enough to share. Mushrooms, asparagus, red cabbage, grilled lemon, and grated Italian cheeses. Delicious on top of the large crispy pieces of chicken. My friend and I could hardly finish the dish and it was divine.
I couldn’t turn down dessert and ordered the strawberry bliss cake. I was wide-eyed when it arrived at the table in all its splendor. Beautiful, whimsical, and surprising with each yummy bite.
But Wanda, what about the wine list?:
The wine list at Alara is on point and offers many fine options.
I enjoyed a glass of one of my favorite white wines, a riesling from Washington State. Eroica is off dry and has a nose of orange blossom, and tastes of ripened pears. My second wine was a fabulous glass of Syrah from France. Smooth with tastes of glazed cherries, baking spices, campfire smoke, and new oak.

They offer a premier cocktail that is covered with a glass dome and smoke is released under the dome to infuse the cocktail. Completely awesome to watch this culinary art form. The glass dome is referred to as a “cloche” a bell-shaped covering used in culinary for a dramatic reveal.
Alara offers full bottles of wine, beer, wine by the glass, interesting mocktails, and knowledgeable bartenders.
Happy Hour is Monday-Friday 4-6 pm with plenty of specials and great prices. Valet parking in conveniently placed in front of the restaurant.
