Heavenly Father, we bow before You in adoration and praise of You as our only eminent Father. We look to our earthly fathers to play varied roles for adults and children.
Lord, we ask our fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, uncles and other men to fill critical positions in our familiesโ and churchesโ lives. Guide them to teach us more about relationships and how to treat our mothers, sisters and others around us by example. Give us father figures who can show children unconditional love and discipline.ย
Proverbs 3:11-12 says, โMy child, accept the Lordโs discipline and donโt be upset when He corrects you. For the Lord corrects those He loves, just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.โ
The Bible mentions several exemplary fathers, such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, David and Joseph. These fathers played noble roles in exemplifying the importance of fatherhood through strength and responsibility. Today, we are grateful for the earthly fathers You have bestowed upon us.ย
Thank You for showing us todayโs fathers as financial providers because of the necessary care they show us when we are in need. We appreciate them, as they dedicate their time to making us laugh and ensuring that we have fun. We are grateful for these fathers as they teach us to be strong in our endeavors.ย
Dear God, touch their hearts so they can feel Your presence each day. Remind them of their children and the need to be present. Order the steps of these men as they try to fulfill the roles of fatherhood You have for them. Please help both fathers and children respect one another and heal any hurt between them. Thank You, God, for leading both parents and children. Amen.
