State Rep. Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) has announced that $300K has been approved for the Evanston Five Point Urban Renewal Plan. The Department of Development awarded this funding through the Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program and Building Demolition and Site Revitalization Program.

“I am so excited about this project and all that it can do for Evanston. This project would allow for 100 potential new jobs for the residents of District 27 and create a better community,” said Rep. Baker.

This project includes the assessment of soil and groundwater contamination at a 1.2-acre site in Hamilton County’s Evanston neighborhood. This site was formerly used for auto-repair and dry-cleaning services, and requires environmental assessment to prepare for the mixed-use redevelopment. This project will result in the construction of residential and retail space, with potential job creation of up to 100 positions.
