Hamilton County Commissioner Alicia Reece, the visionary founder and developer of the award-winning Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame, proudly announces that the attraction has now welcomed over 192,000 tourists from around the world.
Since its grand opening in July 2023, the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame has gained remarkable momentum, establishing itself as a premier international tourism destination by uniquely blending music, technology and education.
With dozens of tours from diverse groups, the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame celebrates and preserves the rich cultural legacy of Black musicians, artists and producers. In doing so, their untold stories live on, welcoming the next generation of creatives to influence the musical landscape of our world.
The Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame features augmented reality activations, an experiential drum machine honoring 50 years of Hip-Hop, a musical waterfall, nightly jam sessions, as well as interactive kiosks that honor the contributions of Black musical artists.
The Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame has inducted 20 honorees, including The Isley Brothers, Bootsy Collins, Dr. Charles Fold, Otis Williams, Penny Ford, Midnight Star, DJ Hi-Tek, Wilbert Longmire, Phillipe Wynne, Louis Shropshire, James Brown, The Deele featuring L.A. Reid and Babyface, Roger Troutman and Zapp, Shirley Murdock, Randy Crawford and Donald Lawrence.
