Onย Sunday, Feb. 16, atย 7:30 p.m.,ย violinistย Kristin Leeย โ€“ย hailed inย The Stradย for her โ€œeleganceโ€ and โ€œvivacity and electric energyโ€ โ€“ย will perform with pianistย Michael Chertockย in theย Linton Chamber Music Seriesย atย First Unitarian Church, 536 Linton Street.

Their concert follows the release of Kristin Leeโ€™s debut solo album,ย American Sketches, which was released on First Hand Records on Nov. 15.ย American Sketchesย reflects the distinct and recognizable sound of American music and its rich history, encompassing both Leeโ€™s journey as an American, as well as the journeys of the composers she selected.

Although this is Leeโ€™s debut In the Linton Chamber Music Series, she is well-known in the Cincinnati community through her workย on the faculty of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music as an assistant professor of violin.

A violinist of remarkable versatility and impeccable technique, Kristin Lee enjoys a vibrant career as a soloist, chamber musician, educator and artistic director. โ€œHer technique is flawless, and she has a sense of melodic shaping that reflects an artistic maturity,โ€ wrote theย St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

A native of Seoul, Korea, she emigrated to the U.S. at the age of 7. During her childhood, playing the violin was a refuge from bullying and racism for Kristin โ€“ she moved to the U.S. not speaking any English and felt the violin became her voice.ย
