The Summer Work Experience in Law (SWEL) program announces the appointment of Ann Brinkley as its new executive director. With over three decades of experience in education and a deep passion for mentoring youth, Brinkley is poised to lead SWEL into an exciting new chapter, SWEL officials said.ย
Brinkley brings 34 years of expertise in education, having served in various roles, including teacher, school administrator, and district attendance compliance officer. She has dedicated her career to opening doors for students, inspiring them to take risks, and guiding them toward opportunities they may have never considered. As a longtime advocate for student success, she has served on the Cincinnati Achievement Academy school board for seven years, including five years as board president. Additionally, she is an active member of the Recipient Ambassador Board for the Karen Wellington Foundation, an organization that brings joy to women and families living with breast cancer.ย
โI am honored to join SWEL as its executive director and excited to build on its legacy of empowering scholars through hands-on legal experiences,โ said Brinkley. โMy mission has always been to mentor, nurture, and create pathways for young people, and I look forward to expanding SWELโs reach and impact.โย
โAnnโs dedication to education and mentorship aligns perfectly with SWELโs mission,โ said SWELโs president, Reggie Staples. โHer leadership and vision will be instrumental in expanding opportunities for our scholars and strengthening our partnerships within the legal community.โย
Under Brinkleyโs leadership, SWEL aims to enhance student experiences, forge new industry partnerships, and ensure that aspiring legal professionals continue to receive the exposure and training necessary to thrive.ย
