Black Art Speaks (BAS) recently celebrated five transformative years with its โ€œRooted in Truthโ€ Gala, honoring its mission of connecting Black artists to opportunities across Cincinnati.ย

Led by CEO Alandes Powell, whose passion and vision guided the evening, the Gala welcomed a full room of supporters and sponsors united in belief in the platformโ€™s impact. The night featured dynamic performances, giving young local talent a stage to shine and affirming the nonprofitโ€™s commitment to cultivating the next generation of artists. ย  ย

Two scholarships were awarded to students attending the Art Academy of Cincinnati, furthering educational access and creative growth. The celebration closed with an outdoor block party, where attendees enjoyed music, community, and networkingโ€”capping a night that reflected the vibrancy, purpose, and promise of Black Art Speaks.
