Through the partnership of Lisa Hyde-Miller and Mitch Morris for many years, Childhood Food Solutions has provided food bags to Mitch Morris and his organization, Saving Our Kings and Queens, to help the families in the Winton Terrace community. On November 8, CFS purchased food from Aldi and will continue to support Mitch with food throughout the year for the families of Winton Terrace. Hyde-Miller said, โ€œWe’re all servants of God, doing the work that God allows us to do!โ€

The future of the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) administered by the USDA remains uncertain, even when the federal government shutdown ends. The U.S. Senate voted 60-40 on the funding bill on Monday, Nov. 10, and the House was scheduled to vote on the afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 12. If passed by the House, the funding bill would go to President Trump, and the shutdown would end. Approval of the funding bill would extend funding for most agencies through January 30. But even as the historic, more than 40-day federal government shutdown seems to be nearing its end, it is unclear if or when full SNAP benefits would return for families in need of food.

  1. Nice to see Cincinnati pulling together in a time of crisis.
A ruff year under the Trump administration. Those that voted for him shame on you.

  2. Snap is a life saver & now it’s gone.
I will never be secure with it for any of us. Why y’all just releasing this old information? Government shutdown started last month.
Folks need resources and where to find them.
