Breakthrough Cincinnati has named Rhonda Starghill as its incoming executive director, starting in early February.

Currently serving as chief development and marketing officer for the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, Starghill is an experienced nonprofit executive committed to youth development, equity and education.

During her seven-year tenure with Girl Scouts, she successfully led and implemented comprehensive fundraising, marketing and member acquisition strategies. Breakthrough Cincinnati Board Chair Jane Garvey said, “Her proven track record underscores her ability to drive strategic initiatives and achieve outstanding results, making her a valuable addition to Breakthrough’s team.

“Rhonda’s commitment to our dual mission of preparing high need, high-potential middle school students for college and training the next generation of teachers makes her a perfect fit for Breakthrough Cincinnati. She has the leadership skills, heart and commitment to drive our organization forward.”

In the board’s search to find the right leader for Breakthrough, Starghill data-based decision-making, social responsibility and passion for making a real difference in her community stood out to the search committee.

Prior to working at Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, Starghill worked in brand management at Procter & Gamble where she led the business and marketing strategy for multi-million-dollar brands.

She holds degrees from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Outside of work, Starghill enjoys spending time with her husband Rob, and two active teenagers. She participates in several community organizations, including Impact 100, Jack and Jill of America and Rotary Club.

“I’m looking forward to joining the team at Breakthrough Cincinnati – a team of exceptional individuals committed to educational equity,” Starghill said. “I know that together we will continue to change the educational outcomes for our talented students while helping to diversify the teacher pipeline.”
