Sponsored by Cincinnati Children’s
Cincinnati Children’s invites middle and high school students as well as their families to explore science and research during Discovery Day on Saturday, May 17.
Kids will be able to take part in demonstrations of science, play educational games and meet health professionals and researchers at Cincinnati Children’s main campus, 3333 Burnet Ave. in Avondale.
The free event, which will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will include a complimentary lunch and a behind-the-scenes tour of science laboratories.
Discovery Day is a great way for young people to learn about internships and jobs in the healthcare field.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to participate in lab demonstrations, look at cells through a microscope and observe liquids changing colors. In addition, participants will learn about 3D printing from Cincinnati Children’s researchers.

“Discovery Day brings youths, health professionals and scientists together, which we hope will inspire young people to pursue careers in science, technology and medicine,” said Dr. Monica Mitchell, a pediatric psychologist who is Cincinnati Children’s assistant vice president for Community Relations. “We want to let young people know about the career opportunities available in healthcare and hospital settings.”
Space for youths and their families is limited, so registration is required. You can register for Discovery Day here. Or for more information, email CommunityRelations@CCHMC.org before May 10.Â
