The Hamilton County Planning Partnership hosted their annual meeting and awards ceremony on Friday, May 16 when they honored the Village of Lockland and former City of Cincinnati Planning Commission Chair Byron Stallworth. 

The Village of Lockland received the Frank F. Ferris Award for their West Wyoming Corridor: Business District Improvement Strategy. The plan is designed to improve the physical conditions, aesthetics, and safety of the corridor. Through this plan, the Village aims to create new opportunities for growth and enhance the corridor’s quality of life and sense of place. The award was accepted by Village Administrator Doug Wehmeyer and Perkins & Will consultants Andrew Broderick and Todd Snapp.

Retired Cincinnati City Planning Commission Chair Byron Stallworth received the Melvin D. Martin Award for his career contributions to community planning.Stallworth contributed to many significant, transformative projects including the development of TQL Stadium; the Medpace Campus; DORA at the Banks; the nationally renowned BLINK festival, and infrastructure upgrades in Clifton.

In addition, Stallworth has been a valued community leader by helping to launch the University of Cincinnati’s African American Cultural Resource Center at UC and lead major campaigns with Keep Cincinnati Beautiful. He served as Director of Government Affairs for the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center and served as Vice Chair of the Green Umbrella Board of Trustees.
