More than 900 attendees came to last year’s OwnCincy Homeownership Conference, but this year will be even bigger and better than ever. The event will feature celebrity guests, workshops, and the return of the Wealth Marketplace at Xavier University’s Cintas Center from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9. And on Sunday, August 10, OwnCincy will feature a Mega-Open House across the region. Follow-up events are being scheduled for the upcoming fall, winter, and spring seasons. The event is free and this year, there also will be a youth track for teens. Free childcare and lunch are provided. Register at OwnCincy.org
“Our families are missing the opportunity to build generational wealth,” said Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney. “Through OwnCincy, we aim to break through homeownership barriers, connect people with resources, educate, and inspire.” Last year, it was a thrill to hear comedian Mike Epps talk about buying and rehabbing the houses in his neighborhood that his family had been evicted from when he was a child,” Kearney added.
OwnCincy founder Darrick Dansby, immediate past president of the Realtists, and his team thank the numerous sponsors who make this impactful event FREE to the public: Union Savings Bank, Guardian Savings Bank, Fifth Third Bank, First Financial Bank, US Bank, the City of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, and many others.
