Tennel Bryant, founder and owner of “Aunty’s Homemade Food,’’ says a good “work ethic” was the key to his success. He learned this at the age of 15 when he received his first job, working for an African American businessman whose example of hard work and fairness made a deep impression on his life.
Tennel’s story will inform, educate and motivate all to do more for the young boys and girls in our lives… and community. He will share his story with the Avondale Community at the 10th Anniversary Celebration of Shelton-Reid, Inc.’s Annual “Home, Church and School: Working Together for Stronger Families and Stronger Communities” event held at Zion Baptist Church, 630 Glenwood Ave; Cincinnati, Ohio 45229, Rev. Born to a young, unwed mother, Tennel never lacked family, church and school support. After high School, he played football at the University of Louisville and studied sports business. When the right offers did not come through, Tennel started Aunty’s Homemade Food, growing it from a stand at Findlay Market to an over 30-employee food preparation business in Arlington Heights, distributing over 5,000 meals per day, says Earl Blanks, MBA, executive director of Shelton-Reid, Inc.
