Woodward’s Terry Durham led the Bulldogs to a 59-57 overtime win against the Indian Hill Indians before a pack house Wednesday night at Mason Middle School. Durham showed how much he understands his body, what I’m saying is Terry got to the free line 33 times, making 24, and scoring nine field goals, all around the basket, using a number of Drop Steps, Dribble dribble drop, up and under, you name it, Terry was a “Post Move Fundamental” all night for the Indians. But Indian Hill stayed right there with the Bulldogs as the score was tied 10-10 after the first quarter.

Indian Hills started going inside against the Bulldogs in the second quarter as Tre Lopez lead the way, as he finished with nine points in the quarter. But Lopez had help as they had four other players score in the first half to help them pull away from the Bulldogs by four points 26-22 going into halftime. Heshimu North chipped in with four points for the Bulldogs.

As the third quarter got started, the Bulldogs seem to gain the momentum, as Terry Durham got started again, as the senior continued to score around the basket and making free throws helped Woodward win the quarter 17-14, but the Indians still had the lead 30-29 behind Colin Shaw who finished the game with a team high 21 points, two coming from behind the three point line. The lead changed at least 20 times in the second half.

This was probably one of the better games you’re going to see. Both teams played extremely hard and made clutch free throws and scored some baskets at some well needed times. The teams traded baskets for the remainder of the game. The Bulldogs Terry Durham got fouled as time expired to take the game into overtime. When the overtime period started, again both teams traded baskets, but it was Durham who scored the final two points of the game, as he scored with 3.7 seconds left on a lay-up.

Woodward will play the Taft Senators Saturday March 3rd at 7:30. The Senators won both meetings in league play this year, but Taft will be playing without first team all-league selection Demarco Bradley Jr.
