Early voting and absentee voting in the Tuesday, May 8, Hamilton County Primary Election begins Tuesday, April 10.
Voters must submit an absentee ballot application in order to receive a ballot by mail. Forms are available on the Hamilton County Board of Elections (BOE) website or by calling the absentee voting department at 513 632-7039. Visit the BOE website at www.votehamiltoncounty.org for a complete listing of voting days and hours.
The deadline to register to vote or change your name or address is Monday, April 9. The BOE will be open until 9 p.m. on this date to accept registration forms. Voters can also register online or use the online change of address service available from the BOE website until 11:59 p.m. on April 9.
What is a primary? A primary is an election where political parties nominate their candidates for the General Election, which will be held on November 6. At the primary election, voters will be asked to select a ballot. Only one ballot may be selected. The choices are: Democratic party/issues ballot, Republican party/issues ballot, Green party/issues ballot, or issues only ballot. Be a part of the process. Become a precinct election official. The Hamilton County Board of Elections has openings for both Democrats and Republicans. Precinct election officials are compensated for their work and play a critical role in the election process. The Board of Elections is now at 4700 Smith Road in Norwood. There is ample free public parking and a secure 24-hour drop box to drop off registration forms, absentee applications or absentee ballots.
