Focus On Christ Ministries Inc. recently hosted its 3rd Annual Awards Luncheon & Fundraiser recognizing “Pillars of the Community” at the Springfield Township Community Center.
“Pillars of the Community’’ honors went to Jennifer Bishop, Esq., and Cincinnati Christian College, with Dr. A.H. Johnson accepting the award.

Bishop is a dedicated volunteer involved in community organizations and has been employed with the Avondale Community Diversion Court Program for 20 years.
“Cincinnati Christian College is dedicated to promoting Christian education for men and women, and providing a place for instruction in Bible-Based concepts that enforce Christian doctrines, beliefs, morals and ethics for faith based minorities,” the award for that institution reads.

Special Appreciations awards were presented to Joe Mallory and Vernisha Finch.
Mallory, administrator at the Hamilton County Board of Elections, was the guest speaker and talked about the election process.
Finch is a participant in the Avondale Community Diversion Court Program.

The clergy guest was Elder Jerry Herron of Triumph Christian Center/Church f God in Christ in Cincinnati. Music was provided by Darryll Davis.
Focus On Christ Ministries is a non-profit organization established in 2014 by Elder Cornell Anderson, who serves as president and CEO. Under the belief that “One Life Can Change Many Lives,’’ FOCMI raises funds to support the Avondale Community Diversion Court Program, he said.
“The goal is to assure a positive self-motivated and confident individual who is prepared to enter society as a productive citizen, prepared to offer a helping hand to others,’’ Anderson said.
Other FOCMI board members are Angelo Dean, vice president; Faye K. Bess, treasurer; Amy L. Anderson, secretary; and Judy M. Vann, member at large.
