The classic fairy tale ballet returns to Music Hall February 14 – 17
CINCINNATI, OH – Be swept up in the romance of The Sleeping Beauty this Valentine’s Day weekend. First staged almost 130 years ago, Sleeping Beauty is the epitome of classical ballet. The stunning production is set to the Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s magical score, performed by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
The Sleeping Beauty tells the familiar story of Princess Aurora, a beautiful girl cursed by an evil fairy. Carabosse, angry that she was not invited to the christening of the princess, casts a spell that Aurora will prick her finger on a spindle and die on her 16th birthday. Luckily, the good Lilac fairy softens the curse, causing Aurora takes a 100-year sleep until she is awakened by the kiss of a prince. Not just a love story, Sleeping Beauty is a fairy tale ballet that also includes characters such as Puss in Boots and Little Red Riding Hood, sure to delight the whole family.
