In commemorating 400 years of perseverance, migration and freedom, the ASALH (Association for the Study of African American Life and History) Margaret and Robert Garner Cincinnati Branch cordially invites you to our Underground Railroad Tour in commemoration of 400 years of African American perseverance on Saturday, September 28, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Visit Historic Underground Railroad sites in Kentucky, including Augusta, Maplewood Farm and Area (Margaret and Robert Garners’ place of enslavement and planning for the escape route in Covington, and in Ohio, including Cincinnati, the Garners’ capture site, with the journey for freedom continuing in Ripley, Ohio.
Narrators/tour guides are Dr. Esly Caldwell II and Gwendolyn Robinson.
