Bethel Baptist Church, Walnut Hills, announces its new pastor, Dr. Bryan Walker.  Walker accepted the position at Bethel on October 20, delivering his first sermon as senior pastor for the church’s annual Men’s and Women’s Day.  He succeeds Dr. Wayne R. Davis, who retired after serving Bethel for 39 years. 

Community members are invited to worship and praise with Bethel during Pre-Pastoral Installation and Services events November 20 to 24.  Scheduled events include the following:  


Wednesday, November 20, 7 p.m.the Reverend K.Z. Smith, pastor, Corinthian Baptist Church, and choirs. 

Thursday, November 21, p.m.the RevDamon Lynch Jr., pastor, New Jerusalem Baptist Church, and choirs. 

Friday, November 22, p.m.the RevDamon Lynch III, pastor, New Prospect Baptist Church, and choirs. 


Sunday, November 24, 11 a.m.the RevDr. Rhansyl Harris, pastor, The Rock Church. 

Sunday, November 24, 3 p.m.the Rev. Dr. Dean Elliott, pastor, Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church, and choirs. 

All events will be held at Bethel Baptist Church2712 Alms PlaceWalnut Hills, Cincinnati, 45206. 

Walker was born and raised in Cincinnati.  He is the youngest of three children of Bernice and the late Deacon Clifford Walker. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at James Temple COGIC under leadership of Bishop William Morgan James. 

After graduating from Colerain High School, Walker pursued higher education at several institutions earning an associates of art in business from Kennedy King College in Chicago, a bachelor of science in communications from Wheaton College in Illinois; a master in theology from Cincinnati Christian University and a doctorate of ministry degree from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton. 

Walker frequently delivers eulogies at the Walker Funeral Home of Cincinnati and speaks to the community on his radio show “Time 2 Talk” on 1020 AM. He also served as an adjunct professor in personal finance at Cincinnati Christian University.  In October 2006, he married Kisha Evans. They are parents of a son and a daughter.
