I am Black HERstory event will highlight known and not so known powerful Black Women throughout history. Christopher Miller, Senior Director of Education, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center will give an impactful and enlightening lecture about powerful Black Women through history. The obstacles these women faced and how they ultimately changed the course of history through perseverance and disruption.
I am Black HERstory will also spotlight local Cincinnati Women who have led the way for other women of color in the corporate and entrepreneur sectors such as: Cynthia Booth (COBCO Enterprises) and Tracey Artis (I Hear Music, Inc). We celebrate these women of the past and present not just for one month but all year round.
“I feel it was very important to not only know our history but our current Black Women leaders so we may inspire future ones,” Owens says.
“It is humbling to be honored at this year’s ‘I am Black HERstory’ event. I am proud of McDonald’s steadfast belief that our employees are our greatest asset. In our organization, we are committed to hiring excellent talent, with a focus on diversity and inclusion,” President and CEO of COBCO Enterprises, Cynthia Booth said, “and we also value and appreciate the diversity of our customers and the diversity of our employees.”
The event will be held at the First Financial Innovation Center on 4th street on Wednesday, February 19th, 6-9pm. There will be vendors, giveaways and more. Tickets are still available via Eventbrite, search HERstory. Thank you to our other partners: The Cincinnati Herald and The African American Chamber of Commerce.
