After spending the last three seasons in Cincinnati coaching baseball and recruiting at the now closed Cincinnati Christian University and spending one season in Kansas, Montaous Walton will be returning to Ohio to coach and recruit for the Wright State University Lake Campus baseball team in Celina. The team, which has a championship caliber program, made four straight USCAA College World series appearances under head coach Chad Geier. Walton is reportedly one of college baseball’s rising young coaches and recruiters,

Walton says he can help Wright State win a championship with his recruiting prowess. He said he has strong connections and recruiting ties in Ohio, as well as in the Midwest. He says he is well respected amongst his peers, having had success in the past, putting together one of the best recruiting classes in 2018 and 2019 for Cincinnati Christian University

Walton, who is originally from Milwaukee, noted the baseball community support he has in Ohio, especially in Cincinnati. Winning a title and adding a championship ring to his coaching resume will be a huge accomplishment, he said, as he keeps working hard recruiting talented players to help coach Chad Geier reach that goal.

Walton said, ” I love the people, not just in Cincinnati, but in Ohio, and look forward to doing some amazing things with Coach Geier and his program. The fact that he even reached out to me to be apart of his championship caliber program means a lot to me and says a lot about my hard work and work ethic. The Wright Lake team plays aggressive baseball, as well as putting pressure on defense.” Overall, I just want to keep working hard and staying humble.’’
