The 3rd annual Professional Pretty Conference took place virtually on November 6-8th to over 100 attendees and guest speakers. Due to the pandemic, the conference typically is held in May, but founder Morgan A Owens decided it was important to continue the mission and meaning of PPC weekend, even if virtually. Presenting weekend sponsors included: P&G Beauty & First Financial Bank.

The Professional Pretty Conference is for the woman in business- Corporate and Entrepreneurship that is ready to take it to the next level and they just need some assistance in the direction to go. In 3 days, women gain knowledge and skills to improve their corporate career, business, and personal growth. In addition, the Conference is on a mission to continue to assist women in their “blooming” season, to encourage women that they are not alone in their journey of seeking the best version of themselves rather professionally and personally.

Friday night was a “Girls Night In” with special sponsors such as: The Christ Hospital Med spa, Sumptuous Spirits, Clothes Mentor and DJ Ebony J. The attendees were able to learn to make at home cocktails from Sumptuous Spirits; Current Beauty trends from The Christ Hospital Med spa w/Dr. Gina Maccorone and a style segment sponsored by Clothes Mentor.

Saturday was the main day business conference where attendees learned: How to build a 6-figure business with entrepreneur, Candace Junee; How to navigate the corporate world with Sherry Sims of the Black Women’s Career Network; Gain financial knowledge with First Financial Bank and had a powerful keynote address from Dr. Rolanda Wilkerson from P&G.

Sunday, the Professional Pretty Conference wrapped up the weekend with an amazing self-care day. The importance of self-care within the minority community is significant due to various underlying health issues and higher statistics of minority women being affected. Sunday self-care day serves as a resource, tool and support system to help aid attendees take care of their mind, body and soul. 

Attendees started the day with yoga with Dr. Anisa Shomo; Kicked off the day with a powerful self-care check with Marcela De La Trigg of Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio; Mental health sessions from Jasmine Pope and Coach Vee; Learned about how community can impact your wellness with Stevi Carr of WiSe Wellness Guild; Saw a fantastic self-care demonstration from Rapid Results Cyro and ended the day with a powerful session of Health is Love with Dr. Anisa Shomo.
