Hamilton County Treasurer Charlie Winburn announced his property tax payment plan initiative to assist homeowners and commercial business owners by giving them an opportunity to clear up delinquent property tax obligations to avoid a possible tax lien sale or foreclosure.

“There are approximately 1,800 delinquent homeowners and 2,500 commercial/business owners who can benefit right now from this program,” Winburn said. “Without this property tax payment plan, possible foreclosures and tax lien sales could accelerate. However, any property owner in Hamilton County who is behind in their property taxes may qualify for this program,” he added.

Winburn further stated, “I want to help property owners who may be struggling—especially during the COVID-19 pandemic—to avoid foreclosures and/or tax lien sales with a view toward collecting property taxes more efficiently and effectively.”

For more information, property owners should call the treasurer’s office before April 30, at (513) 946-4800.
