1. Drink water 

It may seem a little obvious, but water is the key to health. The skin is the largest organ of the human body. Making sure you are hydrated allows proper blood flow, controls sebum production, and reduces puffiness. 

2. SPF 

Even for the most melanated of women, SPF is important. UVA rays from the sun penetrate deep into the skin and cause premature aging in the form of dark spots, uneven tone and fine lines and wrinkles. UVB rays on the other hand can cause irritation, burning or even sun poisoning. Mele’ and CeraVe are my two favorite facial SPF’s. Both found at Target.

3. Collagen supplements 

One of the best ways to keep your skin all over your face and body tight and youthful is collagen. You can find it in capsules or powder form. Take two a day for uncomplicated absorption. Or add a tablespoon to your favorite morning coffee or smoothie. I also add collagen powder to clay masks and body scrubs for extra smoothing. 

4. Eye cream 

We all know our eyes are the windows to our soul. Take care of your under eye area with eye cream. It’s never too early to start. Find the one that best suits your needs, whether it be for dark circles, fine lines or just extra hydration. Don’t forget your lids and brow area. 

5. Apply moisturizer in an upward motion

Work against the laws of gravity by always applying skincare in an upward motion. Starting at the jawline, massage product towards the temples and work in sections. Taking some time at night to lift the skin and muscles of the face will give you an instant result, and over time your face will naturally look more lifted and youthful.
