What made you start your business?
My background in nursing is ICU and Critical Care. I’ve taken care of really sick individuals in the past. I started to develop nurse burnout and realized that I was no longer in love with my chosen profession. It became a love/hate situation where I was giving my all to it but gained nothing in return. The profession took time away from me, caused me to miss important family moments, drained me and I didn’t feel like I was compensated my worth. Then it dawned on me that I was completely over seeing so much illness and disease. So, I began to tap into my first love… beauty and wellness. After years of trying to figure it out, here I am.
How does it empower you as a Black Woman in the Beauty Field?
I take pride in being a black woman in the wellness and beauty industry. There was once a time, when I didn’t see individuals who look like me making such strides. Now, we’re paving the way. I love it here!!
