CINCINNATI – President Joe Biden nominated Kenneth L. Parker to serve as the federal prosecutor for the State of Ohio. Parker is part of a diverse group of people nominated to lead U.S. Attorney offices around the country.
According to the White House, the individuals were chosen for their devotion to enforcing the law, their professionalism, their experience and credentials in this field, their dedication to pursuing equal justice for all, and their commitment to the independence of the Department of Justice.
Those nominated will serve as federal prosecutors in Ohio, Hawaii, Rhode Island, North Carolina, Colorado, Vermont, and U.S. Virgin Islands. The 93 U.S. Attorney’s Offices are part of the President’s efforts to take on the uptick in gun crimes that has been taking place over the last 18 months.
Currently, Parker is the assistant U.S. Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio. He has served in this position since 1999. He has served as chief of the Criminal Division from 2011 to 2019 and chief of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force from 2010 to 2011. From 2003 to 2005, Parker served as an adjunct professor of federal criminal practice at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
