Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care is among the top 16% of U.S. skilled nursing facilities that have been recognized as a Best Nursing Home for 2022-23 by U.S. News & World Report.

The home earned Best Nursing Homes status by achieving a rating of High Performing—the highest possible rating—for short-term rehabilitation. U.S. News & World Report gives the designation of Best Nursing Home only to those homes that satisfy their assessment of the appropriate use of key services and consistent performance in quality measures.

“At UC Health, we are committed to providing superior clinical care, leading the industry in quality outcomes and fostering an exceptional care experience for our patients,” said Lafe Bauer, vice president for post-acute care services and Chief Administrative Officer of Daniel Drake Center. “The recognition from U.S. News & World Report to award Daniel Drake Center as a Best Nursing Home and being ranked as High Performing for short-term rehabilitation for a fourth consecutive year is a truly impressive achievement to be celebrated. This award distinguishes Daniel Drake Center as a national leader and the region’s preeminent provider of post-acute and rehabilitative services. That is all due to the efforts of every member of our team, who are always striving toward optimizing the quality, safety and outcomes of care for our patients.”

Now in its 13th year, Best Nursing Homes evaluates more than 15,000 nursing homes on care, safety, infection rates, staffing and health inspections.

“Choosing the right nursing home based on care needs and comfort is a critical decision for prospective residents and their families,” Zach Adams, senior health data engineer at U.S. News & World Report said. “The Best Nursing Homes ratings highlight nursing homes that excel in short-term rehabilitation and long-term care needs. This year, newly available data on weekend staffing and infection rates that led to hospitalizations provides even more information about how nursing homes rate when it comes to the safety of their residents.”
